SecureWaters wins IBM SmartCamp event in Austin

SecureWaters Inc., a Soddy Daisy, TN-based developer of technology to detect, identify and monitor toxins in surface water, won the recent IBM SmartCamp event in Austin, TX, qualifying it for the SmartCamp World Finals at the end of the year.

IBM’s SmartCamp events are aimed at helping startups with innovative technologies by hooking them up with venture capital firms, academics and industry leaders to hasten their time-to-market. SmartCamp is part of IBM’s Global Entrepreneur initiative.

As winner of the Austin SmartCamp, SecureWaters qualifies for direct mentoring from IBM. Its AquaSentinel product operates in real time as an early warning sentinel and alarm system to automatically monitor and continuously test source surface waters for toxins. The solution offers a more manageable and timely method for testing.
